Program Descriptions
The Master of Architecture draws upon the study of northern community needs, coupled with an integrated approach to building systems for northern climates. Areas of study for advanced graduate work include building with wood, designing for climate change, architectural history and theory, and making and digital processes.
Program Structure
The McEwen School of Architecture offers a two-year, CACB accredited, Master of Architecture degree that prepares students to enter the world of practicing architects. The Program offers two pathways:
- a three-Year Program, open to applicants who have a four-year undergraduate degree (or a closely related field) from a non-pre-professional program; and
- a two-Year Program open to applicants with a pre-professional architecture degree (BAS, BES, BEDS)

*Four-year undergraduate degree in architecture (or a closely related field such as Environmental Design) from a non-pre-professional program or its international equivalent), will be considered for acceptance into an Architecture Qualifying Year, including comprehensive design studio and other suggested courses.
