CACB Conditions and Terms for Accreditation and CACB Procedures for Accreditation
The Conditions and Terms for Accreditation and Procedures for Accreditation are the two accreditation documents for the accreditation of Programs offering professional degrees in architecture. They outline the requirements that the accredited Programs must meet and the procedures to follow to ensure a uniform, fair, and equitable accreditation process that will uphold the minimum standards in architectural accreditation.
The CACB Conditions and Terms for Accreditation outline the criteria to be used in the process of evaluating university programs for accreditation, and the CACB Procedures for Accreditation outline the procedures for evaluating programs and making accreditation decisions. These are companion documents that should be read together.
In June 2025, the CACB Board of Directors approved revisions to the 2017 Procedures for Accreditation. All programs are required to use this revised edition. Read more about the changes below.
2026 Revisions to the 2017 Accreditation Procedures
The CACB has approved revisions to the 2017 Edition of the Procedures for Accreditation, effective June 26, 2026. The 2026 revised edition replaces all previous revisions to the 2017 Procedures for Accreditation and incorporates several key updates intended to improve consistency and reinforce the integrity of the accreditation process.
