IRCC designates CACB as the educational credential assessment (ECA) organization for architects

The Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) is pleased to announce its designation by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as the professional body to issue educational credential assessments (ECAs) for architects interested in immigrating to Canada.

ECAs issued by the CACB will determine how foreign educational credentials compare to Canadian credentials required to practice architecture. ECAs also confirm eligibility for the Academic Certification Program, the first step in the licensing process for architects.

Effective May 20, 2024, the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) started receiving ECA applications for those whose primary occupation is architecture.

ECA applications are received through the online application system developed with the assistance of ALT Technical, after months of hard work and dedication.
