As Managing Principal at HCMA architecture + design, Darryl Condon has spent more than 35 years advancing the profession’s role as a catalyst for positive social impact. A leader in regulatory reform and advocacy, Darryl chaired the Future of Architecture Committee (2016-2023), and its Rise for Architecture initiative, which engaged 2,000+ students and architects across Canada toward an architecture policy for Canada. Darryl earned a Doctor of Design from the University of Calgary, has served as an Adjunct Professor at UBC, and is a Fellow of the RAIC and several international design organizations. He is a Past-President of the AIBC.
Motivation Statement
Darryl is dedicated to strengthening the governance of the profession through meaningful practice, education, regulation, and advocacy. Joining the CACB enables him to support a more accessible, rigorous, and future-focused system for education and licensure – one that better prepares emerging architects to meet society’s rapidly evolving needs.
