Ottawa, ON, July 10, 2023 – The CACB is pleased to announce its successful completion of the Climate Smart Training and Certification program. The Climate Smart greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions program from BMO Radicle Inc. provides businesses with data and training to establish their baseline GHG levels and reduce their carbon footprint. Organizations that undertake this initiative are encouraged to transform into sustainability leaders.

The Climate Smart program provides a unique combination of training, tools, and technical assistance to enable companies to measure and reduce their GHG emissions, make informed decisions to invest in efficiencies and communicate their sustainability initiatives in a compelling and data-driven way.

The CACB has implemented a number of GHG reduction strategies in its operations, such as a sustainable travel policy, which includes purchasing carbon offset credits for all business travel, holding virtual meetings where possible, and implementing a hybrid work model and “bike to work” initiatives as staff incentives.

Becoming a Climate Smart Certified business means CACB joins other industry-leading companies making environmental stewardship and economic prosperity their new reality. Thanks to this certification, the CACB is helping move the non-profit sector towards a more sustainable future.
