Tammy Gaber
DIRECTOR
Dr. Tammy Gaber is Director and Associate Professor at the McEwen School of Architecture (MSoA), where she teaches architecture design and theory courses. Dr.Gaber was one of the MSoA founding faculty in 2013 and completed a SSHRC funded research project which led to her book with McGill Queen’s Press, Beyond the Divide: A Century of Canadian Mosque Design. Dr.Gaber has published chapters on regional architecture and sacred spaces in various books. In 2019 Dr. Gaber won the Women Who Inspire Award from the Canadian Council of Muslim Women and in 2020 she was awarded Laurentian University’s Teaching Excellence Award for a Full-time professor.
CACB Engagement
Dr.Gaber joined CACB as an elected representative of the Canadian Council of University Schools of Architecture (CCUSA) and is keenly interested in contributing to the ongoing conversation bridging pedagogy and practice in architecture in Canada.
