Shane Laptiste
DIRECTOR
Shane Laptiste is a licensed architect with over 15 years of experience practicing in Quebec, Alberta and Ontario. Based in Toronto, Shane is the founder and principal of Studio of Contemporary Architecture (SOCA), his practice encompasses a range of project types focusing on designing community spaces. He passionately works with non-profit organizations in planning affordable housing and gathering places. Shane has served as an instructor at McGill University and Athabasca University and is motivated to create environmentally and socially sustainable spaces.
CACB Engagement
As a joint ROAC/CCUSA representative on the CACB Board, Shane is interested in building upon initiatives allowing current and future architects to effectively respond to long-entrenched and emerging challenges both within the profession and more broadly. His drive is to create a more just, diverse, inclusive, equitable and climate-responsive profession.
