Definition

Accreditation is the public recognition accorded to a professional program that meets established professional qualifications and educational standards through initial and periodic evaluations. Accreditation concerns itself with both quality assurance and quality enhancement. Only first-professional programs in architecture can receive CACB accreditation.

The CACB looks at architectural education in a broad humanistic frame of reference. The accreditation of professional programs is based on "Conditions and Procedures" developed in coordination with schools of architecture within academic institutions, professional societies, licensing authorities, students and general public.
