The Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect (BEFA) Certification

The Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect (BEFA) Program is an alternative pathway to licensure for foreign licensed architects. It is developed by the Canadian Architectural Licensing Authorities (CALA) and administered by the CACB-CCCA.

The Program assesses broadly based experience of foreign licensed architects against the Canadian Standards of Practice

Candidates who meet the Program eligibility requirements can apply for BEFA Certification through a process which consists of an on-line self-assessment and an interview with licensed architects in Canada.

We strongly recommend consulting and reading the Program background information to understand its component and process before you apply.
